DANCE
Our senses and sensibility are powerful tools for shaping movement with ease and expression. To dance is to keep our senses and perception alive—connecting what the body already knows with what can be discovered in each moment.
In my training and classes, I create space for dancers to develop this awareness, exploring how the body functions in motion—attending to different textures, qualities, and the subtle information that guides movement.
The class begins by activating sensory-motor awareness, softening the joints, and opening new pathways in the body. Through mobilizing exercises and structured improvisation, dancers release alignment, find multi-directional balance, and explore fluidity and elasticity. As the work progresses, the focus shifts to set sequences and choreographic phrases, traveling continuously between floor work and upright levels.
I work with imagination as a tool for sensing and shaping movement from the inside. The class cultivates awareness of textures, dynamics, and qualities, inviting dancers into a reflective practice. Through exploring contrasts—fragility and power, smoothness and sharpness—dancers discover the balance that brings expression to movement.
My approach is shaped by years of practice, drawing on contemporary dance techniques (floor work, release technique), modern dance (Limón, Jooss-Leeder-Technik) and contact improvisation.
